CSEA Unit 8785 - Town of Southold is a membership organization first chartered in 1969 and represented some 50 members. Today we represent just shy of 150 Full and Part-time employees of the Town of Southold.
We are represented by the CSEA Suffolk Local 852 which is the custodial Local which represents some 3,800 members in various Towns, villages and libraries within Suffolk County. Suffolk Local 852 is one of 23 Locals which make up Region One (Long Island). There are six Regions in New York State with some 265,000 members statewide.
CSEA is one of the largest Locals within the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) which is the member organization within the AFL-CIO.
